ISO/TC20/U.S.TAG

With world-wide progress in trade liberalization, the increasing importance of global economics, and the move to more multinational ventures, SAE strives to be a leader in international standardization.

In the aerospace area, SAE is the administrator of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (U.S. TAG) to Technical Committee 20 (TC20 Aircraft and Space Vehicles) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

In this capacity, the TC20/U.S. TAG’s mission is to:

a)	To represent the U.S. aerospace community in matters pertaining to the U.S. technical input to ISO/TC20.
b)	To fulfill the functions and responsibilities of a TAG as set forth in ANSI’s procedures.
c)	To advise the U.S. aerospace community concerning TC 20 related standardization issues, recommending related standardization issued, recommending actions as appropriate.
d)	To provide a U.S. forum to exchange ideas and viewpoints regarding international aerospace standardization.
e)	To encourage harmonization of standards generated by ISO and regional organizations (such as AECMA) with U.S. standards to achieve the objective of mutual utilization and avoidance of duplication.

The TC20/U.S. TAG meets on a regular basis to accomplish its mission.
