Section Officers May Nominate Deserving SAE Student Members for A Scholarship
Do you know an SAE student member who actively supports SAE at the local or international level? If so, you are encouraged to nominate this student for the SAE Long Term Member Sponsored Scholarship.
Established in 1994, this scholarship is sponsored by the SAE Foundation, and is funded through the generous contributions received from long-term members of SAE. Recipients receive a $1,000 nonrenewable scholarship. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by funding levels at the time of selection. Contributions to this scholarship fund can be directed to the SAE Foundation Office at SAE Headquarters.
The scholarship is open to all SAE student members who will be entering their senior year of undergraduate engineering studies between August 2001 and February 2002. It recognizes SAE student members who actively support SAE, the collegiate chapter, or the local SAE section or group and its programs. Please note that student grade point average is not a determining factor within the scope of this scholarship.
The SAE Scholarship Committee has recently voted to also allow SAE student members the opportunity to self-nominate for the scholarship. Students must provide a letter supporting their activities from their faculty advisor, section officer, and/or community leader. In addition, the committee continues to encourage SAE faculty advisors, section officers or community leaders to nominate a deserving SAE student.
Applications are available through the SAE website at www.sae.org/students/schlrshp.htm or by contacting Connie Harnish in the SAE Educational Relations Division email@example.com. Applications must be received at SAE by April 1, 2001.
