With a new processor and twice the memory, dSPACE MicroAutoBoxes now feature the ability to compute larger models faster. The performance boost comes from the IBM PPC 750GL processor, which reaches faster cycle times for model calculation because of its doubled Level 2 cache (1 MB). This boost enables the MicroAutoBox to calculate the control model 1.6 to 2.5 times faster, depending on the specific application, model size, and model structure. The SRAM memory of all MicroAutoBoxes was doubled from eight to 16 MB, allowing larger models to be loaded from dSPACE release 6.4 onward. Existing models can continue in use unmodified, and existing executables can be loaded and executed directly. MicroAutoBox can be used for many rapid control prototyping applications such as vehicle dynamics, powertrains, body control, X-by-wire applications, and aerospace applications.
