Displays add layers to provide more data

The drive to provide vehicle owners with more information that’s easy to understand is prompting display providers to unveil products that offer more depth of field than conventional units. Taking vastly dissimilar approaches aimed at different applications, Johnson Controls and TRW Automotive recently demonstrated displays designed for instrument clusters and keypad entry.

IQ has seating for 3-4 people. HVAC case has blower integrated into center section case with evaporator and heater core, and glove box is removed, two design features that permit forward curvature of dashboard on passenger's side. This permits asymmetrical front seating so right side passengers have larger-car legroom.

Adapted from Alfa Romeo Giulietta platform, the Dart's body and aero package is designed for class-leading Cd. Three four-cylinder engines are offered, a 1.4-L Fiat turbo Multi-Air, and two naturally aspirated Tiger Shark engines, which are versions of the Chrysler “world” engine modified for lower NVH and more torque at low rpm.
