The xMOD model integration software platform from IFPEN and D2T Powertrain Engineering features the ability to make models from different tools work together in a single environment. From the early design phase, models from a variety of software, such as Matlab/Simulink, AMESim, and Dymola, used to coexist. These can now interact together on the entire powertrain with xMOD. In addition to streamlining the design phase, xMOD can also be used on hardware-in-the-loop validation benches for ECU and, for some components, even on engine or powertrain test benches. xMOD therefore provides a single working environment from design right through to validation. This facilitates communication between departments, providing everyone access to simulation, and limits the risk of errors and lost information. According to the companies, xMOD is already being used for conventional, hybrid, and electric powertrain applications.
