Allegro MicroSystems offers a 120-kHz bandwidth, 3.3-V open loop Hall-effect sensor with integrated overcurrent (IC) detection and near closed loop performance. The ACS716 current sensor IC provides industrial current sensing applications in a small-footprint, surface-mount package for easy implementation. Applied current flows through a copper conduction path and the analog output voltage from the integrated Hall sensor IC linearly tracks the magnetic field generated by the current. Accuracy is maximized through proximity of the element to the current. Integrated shield technology offers immunity to current conductor and stray electric fields and provides low ripple and low offset drift in high-voltage applications. The current path is isolated from the sensor inputs to allow the ACS716 family to be used in applications requiring electrical isolation.
