Customized high-torque, 20-in (508-mm), 78,000 N·m (57,530 lb·ft) peak robust couplings from Zero-Max are suitable for large and challenging powertrain applications. The couplings combine high torsional stiffness and load capacity, featuring stiffness of 419,000 N·m (309,038 lb·ft) and continuous torque of 39,000 N·m (28,765 lb·ft). Composite disc (CD) couplings have angular misalignment capacity of 1.5° with axial misalignment of 6.5 mm (0.26 in) and parallel misalignment of 0.24 mm (0.009 in). Designed around a composite center disc, large CD couplings perform at peak torques in harsh operating environments from -70 to +250°F (-57 to +121°C). Suitable applications include drivetrains, gear boxes, and generators; couplings provide maintenance-free operation in sea water and abrasive desert sand conditions.
