The DataMan 9500 industrial-grade mobile computer from Cognex features technology that assists in reading challenging direct part mark (DPM) codes in applications where operators need to view the code data on an integrated handheld device. Direct connectivity is provided to factory networks via Wi-Fi and an integrated graphical user interface. The 2DMax algorithm provides advanced decoding for difficult-to-read 2-D codes, including dot peen and laser etched, on any metal surface. The system includes Internet Explorer and onboard keyboard emulation for running a web browser and HTML form-based applications, and it uses the Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 operating system for running custom applications on the QVGA interface. A developer toolset enables custom program creation.
