DuPont Microwave Materials’ Green Tape 9K7 low-temperature co-fired ceramic material system enables the design of high-frequency circuits up to 100 GHz and beyond within the aerospace, automotive, military, and telecommunications industries. The lead-free glass-ceramic dielectric tape comes with compatible gold and silver conductive materials as well as co-fired embedded resistor materials. It is suited for electronic system designs that need to provide a high-density, low-loss interconnect and packaging solution with high reliability. It is also more robust in processing, with a stable dielectric constant, even when refired, which results in greater consistency and higher yields for final circuits.

DuPont has expanded its Vespel line with SP-2515 polyimide parts, which can improve dimensional control and reduce component weight in fluid- and motion-control systems. Working to decrease oil consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, DuPont developed Vespel with high thermal conductivity to remove heat from critical bearing surfaces, leading to cooler running parts and higher pressure and velocity limits. The product is suitable for hot, dirty operating environments in the commercial vehicle industry where tight tolerances, durability, and improvements in energy efficiency are demanded such as seal rings, hydraulic spool valves, thrust washers, and bushings in powertrain applications. Parts made from SP-2515 demonstrate a low coefficient of friction and thermal expansion to match metal. Lightweight aluminum can be used as a mating surface for rotating or moving parts and can eliminate use of heavy steel inserts.

Metal Bonder MA830 and MA832 two-part methacrylate adhesives are nonsagging gels that have been specifically engineered for optimum performance in rigorous metal bonding applications such as specialty vehicle manufacturing, bus and coach, RV, marine, heavy-duty truck, and trailer. The adhesives require no primers and little or no surface preparation on most substrates. Available with or without 12-mm (0.472-in) solid glass bead spacers for bond gap thickness control, Metal Bonder adhesives come packaged in ready-to-use cartridges, pails, and drums. They can be applied in bulk using Plexus FusionMate or other meter-mix dispensing systems.

The Lee Company’s miniature calibrated IMH insert orifices are designed for both liquids and gases. According to the company, the 2.5- and 5.5-mm (0.098- and 0.216-in) diameter cartridge-style orifices are the smallest, self-retained flow restrictors available, and they are designed to provide more accuracy than a drilled hole. Accuracy is confirmed by 100% flow testing to ensure that every orifice is within ±5% of its nominal flow rate. Constructed of stainless steel, the IMH insert orifices are available in a range of flow rates with orifice sizes as small as 0.002 in (0.05 mm). Some models are offered with an integral safety screen. Lee’s controlled expansion principle offers simple installation, providing retention and creating a leak-tight seal that prevents bypass leakage.
