Kistler’s miniature PiezoBeam transducer electronic data sheets (TEDS) accelerometers were designed for multichannel modal and structural analysis of small or thin-walled structures, components, and subsystems as well as for full-vehicle testing in various environments. The Kistler Type 8640A family of single-axis lightweight accelerometers features a mass of 3.5 g (0.12 oz) with sensitivities from 1000 to 100 mV/g. A ceramic cantilever beam sensing element is thermally compensated to emit an electrical charge proportional to vibration. For simultaneous vibration measurements in three orthogonal axes, Type 8688A offers an integral low-noise charge amplifier that converts the charge to a proportional high-level voltage signal. Both single-axis and triaxial models operate directly from a power source and are ground-isolated when mounted with an optional twist-clip or adhesive adapter.
