The U.S. Army TACOM Lifecycle Management Command awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a $647 million contract for 352 Stryker vehicles. Work will be performed in Anniston, AL; Sterling Heights, MI; Lima, OH; and London, Ontario, Canada, with vehicle deliveries expected to begin in July 2010. To date, General Dynamics has delivered 2988 vehicles and trained 18,438 soldiers in their operation. Stryker is a family of eight-wheel-drive combat vehicles that can travel at speeds in excess of 60 mph (97 km/h) on highways, with a range of 312 mi (502 km).
