Advantech International offers a ceramic-injection molded heat sink made with aluminum nitrate. Benefits of the heat sink technology include improved heat dissipation vs. regular aluminum; lighter weight; and direct mounting with no insulation required. The injection-molded part constitutes a one-piece design, providing additional flexibility over the multicomponent assembly currently available. Molded fins allow for heat dissipation, and metalizing can be added to the surface to improve electrical conductivity. The product's ceramic injection molding can be applied to other complex shapes in addition to the molded heat sink. Applications include electric motors, CPU controllers—any electrical system—anything electrical that is controlled.
