An extension of the EPCOS multilayer varistors product range, TDK Corp.’s new E series protects from current surge pulses in automotive electronics. Due to glass passivation, these SMD protection components are qualified to AEC-Q200 with an extended stress test and are even more rugged and reliable than before. Their operating voltage range extends from 14- to 40-V DC. In addition to reduced leakage currents, the new RoHS-compatible components are characterized by increased temperature stability up to 150°C (302°F). The electrical characteristics of these components remain stable even after exposure to repeated pulses.
