Meggitt Sensing Systems’ Endevco model 28959F/28959FV portable all-in-one accelerometer shaker and calibration system with integral signal conditioning was designed to provide both excitation and calibration of charge and voltage mode piezoelectric, piezoresistive, and variable capacitance accelerometers. The self-contained system consists of a built-in vibration exciter, signal generator, computer-controlled amplifier, and servo mechanism with internal reference accelerometer, printer, RS-232 serial interface to transfer field data, LCD display screen, signal conditioners, and mounting accessories. The system can support frequency ranges of 10 Hz to 10 kHz and offers internal memory capacity for more than 1600 tests. The unit powers by ac line voltage or rechargeable batteries and may be used as an in-house laboratory system or as an onsite calibrator for field checks of individual measurement chain components.
