Subaru has expanded the EX Series engine lineup with the addition of a 14-hp (10.4-kW) EX40 overhead cam engine, the largest model in its line of air-cooled, four-cycle EX Series engines. The EX40 uses chain-driven overhead cam (OHC) technology to meet both CARB and EPA Tier 3 emissions standards. An automatic decompression timing system reduces pulling force from 30% to 40%. Suitable for various applications including general construction equipment, power generators, compressors, and small agricultural machinery, the EX40 features increased power, reduced noise, and improved starting. The series boasts maximum efficiency, performance, and power with minimal noise and emissions and an easy-to-install engine design.
