BorgWarner supplies its B-series generation turbochargers for Deutz 6.1-L, six-cylinder heavy-duty diesel agricultural engines. The combination of advanced turbocharging technology and common-rail high-pressure injection provides power of 203 kW (270 hp) and torque of 1170 N·m (860 lb·ft). To fulfill Deutz's power and reduced emissions requirements, BorgWarner’s latest turbochargers feature a compact brushless actuator controlling the wastegate. The reliable, robust design improves fuel consumption and engine power output. The turbocharger is equipped with a milled aluminum wheel and a modified turbine housing to withstand high vibrational loading, and the electric wastegate actuator controlled via CAN bus provides regulation of the boost pressure over the entire engine speed range. Under extreme environmental conditions in off-highway applications, the engine demonstrates improved cold start characteristics.
