Minimizer’s operations team has invested in a 3-D prototyping system from Stratasys Engineering to help get new products to market quicker. Part of the Fortus category of Stratasys products, the 900mc 3D Production System offers virtually real-time 3-D printed thermoplastic and end-user parts through fused deposition modeling. The investment allows Minimizer to expand its target market, now having the ability to offer customers short-run parts without the expense of injection molding or CNC machining. The company can also provide customers conceptual models, end-user parts, functional prototypes, and in-house manufacturing jigs and fixtures. With a build envelope of 36 x 24 x 36 in (914 x 610 x 914 mm), the machine allows Minimizer to make larger parts than what was offered with other prototyping machines.
