Danfoss redesigns the EV245B servo-operated valve for steam applications requiring rapid heating. The series offers three compact polymer coil types that clip on to the valve. The BB dc coil is suitable for temperatures up to 140°C (284°F); the BB ac and BN dc coils for temperatures up to 160°C (230°F); and the BQ ac for temperatures up to 185°C (365°F). The alignment of the double-guided piston and the extra closing spring help prevent leakage, while a durable, erosion-resistant stainless steel valve plate protects the surface of the seal. To extend the valve life and improve resistance against higher temperatures, the piston ring is comprised of carbon-reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and the main orifice seal of glass fiber-reinforced PTFE. The EV245B is suitable for all clean steam applications.
