William Anemaat Named Winner of SAE International’s Forest R. McFarland Award

WARRENDALE, Pa., May 10, 2010 - Anemaat, the president and co-founder of DARcorporation in Lawrence, Kan., has been named a winner of the SAE International 2010 Forest R. McFarland Award.

The McFarland award recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to the SAE Engineering Meetings Board and the development and dissemination of information through technical meetings, conferences, and professional development programs, or for contributions in facilitating or enhancing the interchange of technical information.

Anemaat is responsible for supervising design activities for DARcorporation, an aeronautical engineering and prototype development company. Anemaat is the architect of the Advanced Aircraft Analysis software.

Anemaat was the 2008 SAE Wichita Aviation Technology Congress Technical Program Chair.  He is a member of AIAA and is associate editor for the AIAA Journal of Aircraft.

Anemaat holds an MSAE degree from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and a doctorate degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Kansas.

Established in 1979, the award honors the late Forest R. McFarland, who was an outstanding session organizer, a chairman of the Passenger Car Activity Committee and a member of the Engineering Meetings Board. Funding for this award is through a bequest by McFarland to SAE and consists of a framed certificate presented at the SAE World Congress.
