SAE International Editor, Publication Selected as Finalists for National Editors Award

WARRENDALE, Pa., July 7, 2010 - Lindsay Brooke, senior editor, and SAE International’s Automotive Engineering International (AEI) were selected as finalists for a national award in the Annual Awards Competition of the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).

Brooke and AEI are finalists in the Feature Series category for the article “Re-engineering the Auto Engineer,” which ran in the September and October 2009 issues of AEI. Final awards will be announced later this month. The two-part feature series explained why auto engineers will need to increase their knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles and related technologies, which have become the “hot ticket” in auto engineering. The series also noted the explosion of new college degree programs and training initiatives related to hybrid and EV-related career opportunities.

The ASBPE competition recognizes the hard work and commitment of business and professional magazine, newsletter and Web editors and designers. Such an award is a most prestigious acknowledgement that work has met the high standards of excellence. The competition – one of the largest in the U.S. – is extremely competitive. Judges are experienced editors, designers, consultants and academicians.
