Timothy Walter Lee Honored with the SAE International Technical Standards Board Outstanding Achievement Award

WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 18, 2013 - SAE International honored Timothy Walter Lee, Manager, Hydraulic Brake Systems, The Boeing Company, with the 2013 Technical Standards board Outstanding Achievement Award.

Established in 1953, the Technical Standards Board Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes individuals for outstanding service in the technical committee activities of SAE International. This includes valuable contributions to the work of SAE International technical committees, unusual leadership in the activities of an SAE International technical committee, significant contributions as a representative of SAE International to the accomplishments of technical committees of other organizations or of government agencies, and outstanding contributions to SAE International technical committee work in the form of research, test methods and procedures, and/or development of standards.

Mr. Lee is a Supplier Quality Manager for Boeing Commercial Airplanes he leads a Boeing Supplier Quality (SQ) Enterprise team that has the responsibility to conduct oversight of the Industry Controlled Other Party (ICOP) 9100 series certification process. In this position, he is responsible for leading the oversight team and working directly with aerospace industry representatives and accredited Certification Bodies (CBs) that conduct quality management system audits in the aerospace supply base. Appointed Chairman to the International Aerospace Quality Group Other Party Management Committee (OPMT) in January 2010. He is a Voting Member of Americas Aerospace Quality Group - Registration Management Committee and was that committees Chairman from 2006 – 2010.

Mr. Lee has 30 years of experience in quality, his career with Boeing began in 1987 at Boeing Wichita and he transferred to Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Everett, Washington in 2005. He began in Receiving Inspection and has held several positions including Lead Person, Major Assembly Inspector, Receiving Inspection Manager, Supplier Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Field Representative, Project Leader and FAA Unit Member. He is a graduate of Hutchinson Community College and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
