SAE International 2014 Thermal Management Systems Symposium to be Held September 22-24 at Sheraton Denver West

WARRENDALE, Pa., Sept. 10, 2014 -

SAE International will host the SAE 2014 Thermal Management Systems Symposium from Sept. 22-24 at the Sheraton Denver West.

 

The featured keynote speakers are:

 

·         Day One: Wilko Jansen, technical specialist of thermal management for Jaguar Land Rover, will speak on the challenges in vehicle thermal management. Jansen will address the challenges currently being faced in the area of thermal management in vehicle development. Some of the challenge areas to be discussed will be hybrids, brake cooling and infotainment.

 

·         Day Two: Derek Rotz, senior manager of the advanced engineering department for Daimler Trucks North America, will discuss SuperTruck development and the associated thermodynamic challenges. The SuperTruck program, which is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, has challenged the trucking industry to develop new technologies to meet an aggressive freight efficiency improvement of 50 percent.

 

Other topics of technical sessions include climate control, thermal systems and components, thermal simulation and analysis modeling, alternative refrigerants, thermal management for heavy duty and off-road vehicles, powertrain cooling and under-hood thermal management, and waste heat recovery.
