Collaborative Engineering in Development Lifecycles Explored in New, Free SAE International Technical Content Event

WARRENDALE, Pa., Nov. 6, 2014 -

SAE International offers the new, free technical content event with extended Q&A, “A Collaborative Approach to Engineering with Open Standards and MathWorks Simulink.” Hosted by IBM, it will be held Thursday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m., U.S. EST.

In today’s world of sophisticated and complex products, systems engineers are expected to shorten development cycles while continuing to satisfy market demands for improved safety and performance. Leading engineering organizations use advanced model-based design methodologies to meet these challenges.

This free technical presentation demonstrates how design models captured in MathWorks Simulink can be integrated into the development lifecycle through requirements management, design, and quality management. Additionally, participants will be able to learn from an experienced systems solutions architect how design management provides web-based reviewing of Simulink models and offers change and defect management as well as work item planning integrated in the Simulink design. This 45-minute presentation will be followed by an extended audience Q&A.

Lead speaker will be:

·         Justin Dyer, Systems Solutions Architect, IBM Rational – Dyer is a Systems Solutions Architect at IBM Rational, a leading producer of tools for real-time systems and software development. Since joining IBM Rational (formerly Telelogic and I-Logix) in 1999, he has provided process and tool consulting and training to over 50 industry-leading corporations and government organizations. His most recent focus has been in the area of model driven development for real-time/embedded systems and software. Dyer is intimately familiar with theRational solution for systems and software engineering including the use of Rational DOORS Next Generation, Rational Team Concert, Rational Rhapsody, Rational Quality Manager, Rational Publishing Engine, and Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager (RELM).

The presentation is hosted by SAE International and moderated by Lisa Arrigo, Custom Electronic Products Editor, SAE International.
