Matsuura Appointed to SAE International NAIPC Leadership Team
WARRENDALE, Pa., June 20, 2016 - Masaki Matsuura, president of AW Technical Center USA Inc. (AWTC-A), an Aisin Group Company, has been elected to the executive leadership team of the SAE International North American International Powertrain Conference (NAIPC). Among other initiatives, the leadership team is responsible for organizing the annual NAIPC,

The NAIPC is an invitation-only event and the premier powertrain leadership forum in North America. The event is conducted every September and will be held next in Chicago. The leadership team is comprised of senior executives representing all the major original equipment manufacturers and suppliers serving the North American market.
According to Porreca, each year the leadership agrees on the theme for the conference, develops a number of sessions and selects the presenters and keynote speakers. The theme for 2016 is: “Mobility 2.0: Navigating Diversity of Customers, Technology and Players amid Industry Volatility.”
Matsuura was recently assigned to his new position as president of Ann Arbor-based AWTC-A. Since 2007, Matsuura has been project manager of the Group V, Product Engineering Department where he was responsible for general management of development for front wheel drive 6-speed and 8-speed automatic transmissions for global OEMs.
Matsuura started his career at Aisin AW as a mechanical engineer developing the front wheel drive 5-speed automatic transmission. In 2004, he was assigned as a project engineer at AWTC-A and contributed to Aisin AW’s product launch for the US market until 2006.
Matsuura is a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering program at Shinshu University in Japan.
