SAE International Names PACCAR Vice President Landon Sproull New Commercial Vehicle Sector Vice President Nominee
WARRENDALE, Pa., Oct. 12, 2016 - SAE International’s Executive Nominating Committee has named PACCAR Vice President Landon Sproull as Commercial Vehicle Sector Vice President Nominee, a term which runs from 2017-2020.
As SAE International’s Vice President of Commercial Vehicle, Sproull will be responsible for providing leadership and continuity for the Society’s commercial vehicle initiative and for integrating the needs of the industry in SAE International’s standards, events and educational programs. SAE International also elects vice presidents for its aerospace and automotive sectors.
In his current position with PACCAR, Sproull is responsible for powertrain strategic planning including global development, validation and compliance and the PACCAR Technical Center. Prior to this, he was Chief Engineer at Peterbilt for 10 years. He joined PACCAR in 1988 as a design engineer in Nashville, Tennessee.
Sproull earned his engineering degree from University of Evansville and earned a master of business administration degree from Middle Tennessee State University (Murfreesboro). He is a licensed Professional Engineer and has been a member of SAE International for 29 years. He served on the SAE Board of Directors from 2002-2004.
Sproull’s nomination will go to an SAE International member vote in November 2016. If elected, he will begin his four-year term in January 2017.
