New SAE International Book Covers Engine Design

WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 5, 2005 -

A new book to be released by SAE International will introduce engineers to the internal combustion engine. 

Vehicular Engine Design by Dr. Kevin L. Hoag covers each major engine component and subsystem in a step-by-step process.  The book is intended for student engineers, automotive industry practitioners and engineers working in government agencies responsible for engine regulation.

Hoag is associate director of the Engine Research Center at the University of Wisconsin.  A member of SAE International, he has received the Arch T. Cowell Merit Award and the Outstanding Younger Member Award.  He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
