Roley Receives SAE Technical Standards Board Outstanding Contribution Award
WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 20, 2005 - Dan Roley, Standards Manager at Caterpillar, Inc., has been selected to receive SAE International’s Technical Standards Board Outstanding Contribution Award.
The award, established in 1953, recognizes individuals for outstanding service in technical committee activities of the society.
Roley has worked at Caterpillar for 30 years. Before moving to his current position in the standards and regulations department, Roley was responsible for international research at Caterpillar’s European office inGeneva, . A member of SAE International, he has been active in the society’s construction and agricultural standards development committees for the past 25 years. He is also the chairman of the International Organization for Standardization Technical Committee focused on earth moving machines.
Roley holds a doctorate degree in engineering with a major in ergonomics from the University of California. He currently resides in Metamora, Ill.
