DaimlerChrysler Corporation Confirmed as Host for SAE 2008 World Congress

TROY, Mich., Jan. 9, 2006 - DaimlerChrysler Corporation has agreed to host the SAE 2008 World Congress, the world’s largest automotive technology event.

As a sign of its continued importance within the automotive industry, the SAE World Congress now has confirmed host companies through 2008. DaimlerChrysler Corporation joins Toyota, host of the 2007 event, and BMW, host of this year’s SAE World Congress, which will be held April 3-6 at Cobo Convention Center in Detroit.

"The positive impact that the SAE World Congress has on automotive engineering cannot be understated,” Frank O. Klegon, Executive Vice President, Product Development for DaimlerChrysler Corporation, who will serve as chairman for the SAE 2008 World Congress, said.

Klegon noted that his company’s decision to host the SAE World Congress was based on the value that the event provides. "The event brings together the best minds and technology in a truly open forum for discussion."
