SAE International's Volunteer Program Helps Employees Help Others

WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 14, 2006 - SAE International is encouraging employees to volunteer in the community through its new Days of Caring program.

For every vacation day an employee takes to help those in need, SAE International will match it with an extra day off, or a “Day of Caring,” to advance the employee’s volunteering experience.  A maximum of two Days of Caring can be used per calendar year.

“During the local flooding devastation in 2004, our employees graciously stepped forward and said ‘I want to help,’” Raymond A. Morris, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of SAE International, remarked.  “This program gives them the guidelines to do so, and we hope it encourages other employees to volunteer in the community.  We want to help our employees help others.”

This is the first volunteer program offered at SAE International.  It is valid for employees at SAE International’s World Headquarters in Warrendale and Automotive Headquarters in Troy, Mich.
