May and June - Busy Months for SAE Collegiate Design Events

WARRENDALE, Pa., May 5, 2006 - Collegiate engineering teams will have six more opportunities to show their stuff as SAE International's Collegiate Design Series heads into its May and June competitions.

The events vary in challenges and terrain and include designing, engineering and building scale Formula race cars, off-road Baja vehicles and futuristic vehicles designed to get the most fuel efficiency possible.

The remaining schedule includes:

  • Mini Baja West – Portland, Ore. – May 11-13
  • Formula SAE East – Romeo, Mich. – May 17-21
  • Midwest Mini Baja – Milwaukee, Wis. –  May 24-27
  • Aero Design West – Encino, Calif. – June 2-4
  • Supermileage – Marshall, Mich. – June 8-10
  • Formula SAE West – Fontana, Calif. – June 14-17

Through the SAE Collegiate Design Series, students get real-world, hands-on experience with automotive and aerospace engineering.
