Zimmerman to Receive SAE Aerospace Customer Support Award for Excellence

WARRENDALE, Pa., Jan. 2, 2007 - Stephen ZimmermanStephen Zimmerman of Monogram Systems has been selected to receive SAE International's Bruce R. Aubin Aerospace Customer Support Award for Excellence. He will be presented the award at the SAE AeroTech Congress and Exhibition in Los Angeles, September 2007.

The award, established in 2001, recognizes an individual working for a Tier 2 or Tier 3 aerospace supplier who has significantly contributed to the air transport industry. The award, which was renamed for Aubin in 2005 to honor his achievements in the aerospace industry, is funded by the SAE Foundation.  In addition to supporting the awards, recognition and scholarship programs of SAE International, the SAE Foundation develops and funds programs and incentives that foster student interest in engineering, scientific and technical education

Zimmerman is Vice President of Sales and Customer Support for Monogram Systems, a multi-dimensional supplier of cabin systems and galley equipment for the aerospace industry.  In this position, Zimmerman is responsible for the business growth of the company and ensuring that its produc ts, services, and support network exceed customers’ expectations.  He led the development of an action program focused on improving airline customer satisfaction. As a direct result, at a recent Airbus Supplier Awards ceremony, Monogram Systems was presented with a first of i tskind “Most Improved Supplier Award” for excellent customer support. This award reflec tsMonogram’s ou tstanding performance in moving up 13 positions to achieve an overall supplier ranking of 11 among Airbus’ top suppliers.

Zimmerman joined Monogram in 2005, continuing his 22-year career with the global aerospace community.  Previously, he worked at Honeywell Aerospace holding various leadership positions in general management, engineering, operations, and sales and marketing.

A registered professional engineer in the state of California, Zimmerman serves on the Board of Advisors for the School of Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California.  He holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.  He holds a master's in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California and a master's in business administration from Arizona State University.
