WARRENDALE, Pa., May 11, 2007 - If you thought that gas prices were high last summer, wait until this year. Some experts estimate that prices will be as much as 10 cents more per gallon of gas.

Now is the perfect time to attend SAE International's Supermileage® competition where you will see the future of engineering technology and fuel economy. These vehicles, which are designed and built by high school and college engineering students, achieve remarkable results.

Last year's winning car got 3,145 miles per gallon…imagine driving cross country on a single tank of gas!

When:               June 7-8, 2007
Where:              Eaton Proving Ground – Marshall, Mich.

The Supermileage competition provides engineering and technology students with a challenging design project that involves the development and construction of a single-person, fuel-efficient vehicle. Vehicles are powered by a small four-cycle engine. Students have the opportunity to set a world fuel economy record and increase public awareness of fuel economy.
