MEET FUTURE STARS OF MOTORSPORTS AT FORMULA SAE WEST - 80 University Teams From SoCal and Around the Globe Set to Compete June 15-16

WARRENDALE, Pa., June 1, 2007 -

Meet the stars of tomorrow in motorsports engineering when Formula SAE West returns to on-track competition at California Speedway June 15-16.

In Formula SAE, SAE International student members design, fabricate and compete with formula-style racing cars. The limitations on the car frame and engine challenge the students’ knowledge, creativity and imaginations.

At a recent National Press Club event in Washington, DC, famed Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal, a long-time high-profile supporter of Formula SAE, said, “I believe virtually every young engineering student today who aspires to design and develop automobiles in this country has had, or will have, some kind of involvement at some point in time with the Formula SAE program.  For those of you in the press, I encourage you to research the Formula SAE program to learn more.”
