AWIM Students to Display Talents at SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress

WARRENDALE, Pa., Oct. 30, 2007 - The future of science, math and engineering will be on display when 15 students from Streamwood High School in Streamwood, Ill., and five students from New Lenox, Ill., show their technical skills prior to the annual banquet for SAE’s Commercial Vehicle Engineering Conference & Exhibition on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill.

The students, ranging from elementary school to high school, will demonstrate some of the “challenges” that they have worked on from SAE International’s A World In Motion® (AWIM) curriculum. AWIM is a highly interactive K-12 educational program that brings math and science to life and has introduced more than 3.75 million students to rewarding engineering, science and technical career possibilities.

Demonstrations will include the Motorized Toy Car, Skimmer, JetToy and Glider design projects.
