SAE International Staffer Receives PR Award

WARRENDALE, Pa., Nov. 19, 2007 - The expression “taking one for the team” got a very positive connotation when SAE International Corporate Communications Manager Nancy Lewis received the PR News 2007 PR Team Leader of the Year award.

The award was presented during the PR News PR People Awards Luncheon at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.  The awards honor leadership and innovation in the public relations field.

“In my case, being a good team leader means I work with extremely knowledgeable and cooperative members; am surrounded by superior colleagues in my own department as well as throughout the organization, and have the support of a fine management group. When you have all that going for you, how can you miss?” Lewis observed.

“We’re proud to receive this recognition," Robert Chalker, Director of Global Sales and Communications at SAE International, said.  "Any one of the finalists in the category could easily have won – so it meant a lot to SAE to bring home this trophy."

Prior to joining SAE International, Lewis was a sport-marketing executive in the motorsports industry. She also has extensive experience as a reporter for several of the nation’s largest newspaper chains. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Bethany College in West Virginia, and a master’s degree in sports administration from Ohio University .
