SAE Announces Honeywell Outstanding Collegiate Branch Winners

WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 6, 2008 - Nine universities are recipients of SAE International’s 2007 Honeywell Outstanding Collegiate Branch Award. Representatives from the schools will be presented the award during the SAE 2008 World Congress Faculty Advisors Committee Meeting, held April 15, 7:45 a.m., at the Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit.

This award recognizes SAE Collegiate Branches for exemplary performance in the areas of membership and recruitment, technical meetings, networking opportunities, SAE Collegiate Design Series teams and community service programs, like A World In Motion®. Winning schools are awarded a certificate and a monetary prize.

There are three classes of awards, based on the size of the SAE Chapter. Winners of the SAE International 2007 Honeywell Outstanding Collegiate Branch Award include:

Class 1 Winner:             University of Michigan - $1,000
Class 2 Winner:             Central Michigan University - $800
Class 3 Winner:             University of Alabama - $600

Additional Awards of Excellence, including a $100 prize, will be presented to the following universities:
