Economist-author to speak at SAE Off-Highway Banquet

Warrendale PA,, April 26, 2000 - Dr. Barry Asmus, Senior Economist at the National Center for Policy Analysis, will be the featured speaker at the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International Off-Highway & Powerplant Congress & Exposition, to be held September 11-13, 2000 at the Midwest Express Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Named by USA Today as one of the five most requested speakers in the U.S., Asmus has written five popular books on economics, including Crossroads: The Great American Experiment," nominated for the H.L. Mencken Award.

A principal commentator on a nationally syndicated radio show called "Perspectives on the Economy," Asmus now can be heard weekly on KNMY, a Los Angeles money and business talk show.
