SAE presents Hybrid Electric Vehicles: The Northern Perspective TOPTEC

– The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) will present a TOPTEC (TOPical TEChnical) workshop on "HEV: The Northern Perspective", February 22-23 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto Ontario, during the Toronto Auto Show.

This two-day program will address key issues surrounding state-of-the-art Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) from the viewpoint of industry leaders, researchers, vehicle users, and government officials. The purpose of this conference is to bring some of the new technology sources together and to present them in a setting with a "Northern Perspective."

Industry experts and researchers have been invited to share their approaches and insights on EV and HEV technology. Presentation topics will include discussions of the vehicle manufacturer's perspective, power systems, design challenges, infrastructure, regulations, future challenges, safety and servicing. On Thursday and Friday, vendors in the fields of hybrid-electric and electric vehicles will be on hand to display their products or services. On Tuesday afternoon, a special reception will be held in the display area for conference participants. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an EV and HEV ride and drive during the lunch periods and are invited to a Friday morning breakfast.
