User Instructions for the Nomination & Scoring Templates

The SAE Fellow Nomination form is a Word template in which certain fields are locked so users cannot mistakenly type in these areas. To obtain this document, you must view the required SAE Fellow Nomination PowerPoint tutorial or one of the WebEx classes offered. At the end of the tutorial, the URL for the 2009 Nomination form and Scoring document is given for you to copy and paste into your browser. If you join the WebEx Review, the link will be e-mailed to you following the session.

To move around in the Nomination form, place your cursor in any blank field and a prompt will appear. Begin typing. The space allowance corresponds to the information being requested. Use the TAB key to move through the form. Do not use the return key in the name and address fields. Additionally, do not use dashes or brackets in the telephone fields as these are numeric fields. Click in the business or home box then use your mouse to click that you would like to insert an 'x'. Click twice to remove the 'x'.

The Fellow Grade Scoring document is an Excel document with locked fields. Again, Nominators are required to view the Powerpoint tutorial presentation. The blank Scoring document is posted along with the Nomination form. A completed Scoring document must be submitted in with your Nomination package.

Users are to place their mouse over the "red" indicators to obtain further scoring instructions and to finish reading the qualifying statements. This document will automatically sub total columns plus indicate total score. Click the "Comments" tab to reference a non-adding score sheet with complete text.

Once you determine applicable points for each category, type this number in the "score" column. Enter a zero or leave the score column blank when no score is awarded.
