Aardvark Polymers Announces Availability of Aardalloy Thermoplastic Alloys for Rotational Molding Applications.

Aardvark Polymers has announced commercial availability on a line of custom thermoplastic alloys formulated for rotational molding applications.  These specialty products will be marketed globally under their Aardalloy® trademark.

Aardalloy® Thermoplastic Alloys are custom formulated and compounded from engineered and high performance polymers for the most demanding applications.  The base materials, usually engineering grades of acetals, nylons, and polyesters, are compounded with other engineering and high performance polymers to form thermoplastic alloys with enhanced properties targeted at specific market applications.

Aardalloy® Thermoplastic Alloys are employed to raise impact levels, increase strength to weight ratios, reduce friction and wear, increase continuous service temperatures, extend high temperature durations, improve ductility, resist aggressive chemical and fuel environments, improve dimensional stability, and provide lower creep under load.

Aardalloy® Thermoplastic Alloys will permit rotational molders to engage high performance projects in markets where their participation had been limited due to the lack of performance characteristics in available materials. The efficiencies of the rotational molded process, coupled with advanced materials from Aardvark Polymers, provide both OEM’s and end users considerable advantage for sourcing large hollow parts for industrial and performance related applications.

Aardvark Polymers released their first engineered polymers for rotational molding in June of 2006.  Since then, Aardvark has released six new grades of Aartel® acetals in both homopolymer and copolymer formulations. The acetal offering includes neat, impact modified, conductive and antimicrobial formulations. Complimenting their acetal products are three grades Aarlon® nylons in type 6 and type 6/6. Their offering includes nylon formulations that are FDA approved for food articles and grades with UL94-V2 ratings for flammability. Several polyester formulations are currently in development with anticipated release dates before the end of 2006.

Aardvark Polymers’ materials are available in North America through PolyOne Distribution, dugan.bradfield@polyone.com. ICO Polymers distributes Aardvark products in North America, Europe, Australia, and Malaysia. cdavis@icopolymers.com.  An Aardvark Polymers brochure of Products, Properties, and Processing Guidelines is available in pdf format upon request to info@aardvarkpolymers.com.
