First Awards Presented to Ray Morris and Bill AgnewTwo individuals considered to be the "fathers" of A World In Motion, an elementary school math and science program developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), recently became the first recipients of the "Donald W. Ableson Award for Visionary Leadership".
Ray Morris, Vice President and COO of SAE International, and Bill Agnew, former head of Research and Development at General Motors and an SAE Fellow, received the awards at the annual SAE Foundation Banquet held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, on May 12, 2004.

"Staff members are rarely, if ever, recognized with SAE awards," Ableson continued. "I am very pleased with the inclusion of Ray Morris in the first Ableson Award for Visionary Leadership, and I feel it is a proper recognition for his extraordinary efforts and accomplishments."
The Ableson Award is issued by the SAE Foundation Board of Trustees. It is the highest recognition that the Foundation Board bestows on an individual who has exhibited exemplary leadership within his/her industry, to SAE, and the SAE Foundation.
