Case C Series wheel loaders have proportional-shift transmission

Case Corp.'s C Series wheel loaders, featuring all-new transmissions, as well as other improvements, are designed for optimum reliability and durability on the job site. Models are available with engines of 97 kW (130 hp), 113 kW (152 hp), 138 kW (185 hp), and 185 kW (248 hp). The 621C and 721C are available in extended-reach models and in tool-carrier configurations. Key to the reliability of these machines is the all-new proportional-shift transmission. Shifting is now dependent on torque, not speed, allowing for a smoother transition between gears, which results in increased productivity and longer transmission life. The improved autoshift transmission features a cold-start mechanism and a manual mode, enabling the operator to tailor the shifting to fit the job application. Other improvements include a closed-center, wide-angle steering system for more responsive turning, and an improved brake pedal declutch for smoother starting and stopping. For increased operator comfort and convenience, the C-series cabs offer 3.9 m2 (42.5 ft2) of glass for better visibility. Each model also features a reduction in sound level, creating a quieter operating environment.
