Off-highway truck from Caterpillar offer new body options
-
Caterpillar has updated the 769D and 773D off-highway trucks to improve serviceability, as well as operator comfort and efficiency. New body options allow the user to optimize productivity and durability by selecting a body to suit the application. The 769D, which carries a maximum payload of 37 t (41 ton) and the 773D, which carries as much as 53 t (58 ton), continue to offer the powertrains, structures, and electronics featured in previous models. Major enhancements to the trucks include hydraulic system changes that reduce complexity and increase torque converter life, and a new steering system that reduces power demands and steering effort, while improving steering response. The trucks feature electrohydraulic hoist control and other hoist circuit changes that decrease dump time and snub body-down impact. Several controls have been redesigned for greater operator comfort: the low-effort hoist control is easy and precise, and the operator window is now powered electrically. The 769D uses the Caterpillar 3408E and the 773D uses the 3412E turbo-charged and after-cooled diesel engines. Each truck offers a choice of dual-slope body or flat-floor body so the user can fit the truck to any application.
