CB-534C vibratory asphalt compactors from Caterpillar features high-frequency option

Caterpillar now offers an optional high-frequency vibratory system for the CB-534C double drum vibratory asphalt compactor. The option changes vibratory frequency from 42-53 Hz. High frequency can improve compaction on Superpave mix designs because of the high-aggregate content, and can increase productivity as well, because it allows the compactor to work at a faster speed. This compactor continues to be offered with a three-amplitude vibratory system that helps match centrifugal force with various material characteristics. It has an operating mass of 9195 kg (20,270 lb) and a drum width of 1700 mm (67 in.). Powered by a turbocharged Caterpillar 3054T diesel engine, the compactor is rated at 78 kW (105 hp), and meets EPA and CARB emissions regulations. Its high-efficiency water spray system uses durable and reliable components. The Maximum Visibility Position control console provides enhanced visibility to drum surfaces and drum edge contact points. A warning system monitors critical fluids, and daily maintenance and routine service points are located on either side of the machine. The compactor also has an optional automatic speed control system that allows the operator to set the maximum machine speed within each speed range.
