Ingersoll-Rand compactors are turbocharged
-
Ingersoll-Rand's Road Machinery Div. offers the DD-90HF and DD-110HF (high-frequency), high-performance, double-drum vibratory compactors. These compactors were engineered specifically for better compaction of the new Superpave mixes now used in highway, airport, and other large paving applications. With operating masses of 9840 kg (21,700 lb) and 11,365 kg (25,060 lb), and drum widths of 1675 mm (66 in.) and 1980 mm (78 in.), the new models meet all DOT static weight requirements. The DD-90HF offers 63.3 Hz (3800 vpm) frequency for fast rolling speeds and ultra-smooth surface finish, and the DD-110HF offers 55.8 Hz (3350 vpm). Both units have a nominal capacity to 290 t (325 ton) of HMA per hour. These compactors are capable of breakdown rolling within close proximity to the paver and within the optimum temperature range for compacting Superpave mix. Both models feature a patented Impact Meter that measures accurately the number of drum impacts per foot, allowing the operator to adjust speed and impact spacing to meet critical compaction requirements. The units are powered by turbocharged Cummins 4BTA 3.9 82-kW (110-hp) and 93-kW (125-hp) engines. They offer great maneuverability with an outside turning radius of 5235 mm (206 in.) and 5590 mm (220 in.), and curb clearance of 430 mm (17 in.) and 508 mm (20 in.).
