Komatsu PC600LC-6 excavator uses Cummins N14 engine

The PC600LC-6, the most recent addition to Komatsu America Intl.'s line of hydraulic excavators, is designed with features to increase productivity in heavy construction, deep trenching, sewer and water, and pipe-laying applications. The 59,597-kg (131,390-lb) excavator is equipped with a 286.5 kW (384-hp), six-cylinder Cummins N14 engine, which not only provides greater power, but also provides improved emissions without sacrificing valuable power. The engine complies fully with all emissions regulations, including CARB. Features of the excavator's ergonomic cab include easy-to-use lever controls, reduced noise and vibration, and operator comfort in extreme weather conditions. This machine increases hourly production and capacity in production and performance by at least 15%. These productivity gains are achieved by incorporating the open-center HydrauMind hydraulic system for increased dig speed and production, as well as using other features, such as increased digging force, large bucket capacity, and operator comfort. Both machine durability and stability of this model have been improved by locating the center of gravity backward, and incorporating a 3.3 m (10.75 ft) track gauge.
