Komatsu America Intl.'s 59.0-t (65-ton) HD605-5 dump truck offers features such as a larger bed, higher carrying capacity, and tighter turning radius, all of which provide optimum productivity, maneuverability, durability, safety, and operator comfort. This quarry version dump truck is modified to carry more weight, with a 20% larger bed, yet it retains the speed and maneuverability of a smaller truck. The 106,680-kg (235,190-lb) truck features a durable, high-performance drivetrain; all-electronically-controlled, seven-speed planetary transmission; advanced electronics; and a hydraulic system designed for power and control. It is well suited for quarry and rock applications because of its larger bed and hauling capacity. It can be fully loaded to 60 t (65 ton) and with a bed of 40 m³ (52.3 yd³), bulkier materials such as limestone can be transported without spillage. Powered by the 533.4-kW (715-hp) Komatsu SAA6D170E engine, the truck complies fully with EPA and CARB standards.
