Liebherr LTM 1080/1 mobile cranes offer advanced boom technology

Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH has added two LTM mobile cranes with 80- and 500-t (88- and 551-ton) lifting capacity to its construction equipment line. The 4-axle LTM 1080/1 mobile crane offers advanced boom technology. The functionality of the 48-m (157-ft)long telescopic boom is demonstrated by the torsion-resistant oviform boom profile and the Telematik fully automatic telescoping system, with patented internal interlocking method of five telescopes. The high-performance carrier drive with Liebherr turbocharged diesel engine and ZF power shift gear is controlled by modern CAN bus drive management. Three additional Liebherr system buses are provided for comprehensive control functions. The sensors on the crane superstructure are equipped with microcontrollers and are interconnected by the system bus. The crane's design is based on the single-engine concept, and electronic speed control and a reduced nominal speed guarantee economical crane operation. Newly developed with an ergonomic cockpit, the operator's cab features a design determined entirely by function, which offers optimal working conditions.
