During a rollover, these advanced systems inflate to provide a taut, yet cushioned support for the occupant's head and neck, thereby reducing injuries and saving lives. During inflation, the tube-shaped devices can contract significantly in length while increasing in diameter, providing greater opportunities for safety applications.
