Error 404--Not Found

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.4.5 404 Not Found

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.

If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.

Add-in for ESPRIT

The Zerbick Software plunge milling add-in for DP Technology's ESPRIT CAM system has a complete set of plunge roughing tools that enable roughing of 2-D pockets with or without islands. It works with z-axis milling, which allows tools to remove large amounts of stock efficiently by transferring the milling torque axially along the cutting tool into the spindle. This method adds stability when working on deep pockets or with long tools. Stock is removed by plunging a series of holes with overlapping diameters. The add-in automatically calculates and identifies the location of pilot holes, and allows for parallel rows and zigzag patterns at any angle, as well as concentric-in and concentric-out patterns without violating defined boundaries.

Optical design

Lambda Research Corp. has released version 6.2 of its OSLO software for optical design and engineering. OSLO is suitable for research and education as well as applications such as imaging systems (photolithography, optical metrology, laboratory instruments), laser systems (fiber couplers, beam delivery, cavity design), non-imaging optics (illuminators, interferometers, solar collectors), and visual systems (microscopes, telescopes, night vision). New OSLO features include the addition of an asymmetric bicubic spline surface property, which allows users to represent x and y data points entered at random locations on the optical surface. The software also has the capability to act as a DDE (dynamic data exchange) server or client.

CAD search engine

CADATA Consulting Ltd.'s dwgBase V2.0 accesses dwg/dxf data and opens the information contained in a drawing as if it was a database, without the user needing a CAD license. dwgBase searches features and content over multiple drawings/models to generate the database. The software provides solutions for block/attribute extraction, mini-document management, text value/pattern searching/extraction, database creation, connection and linking capabilities, xref/image management, and more. The search and reporting templates provide functionality without custom programming.

Multiphysics modeling

FEMLAB v2.2 from COMSOL features new versions of the Electromagnetics Module and Chemical Engineering Module. The Electromagnetics Module includes new formulations and elements that are customized for modeling electromagnetic processes in ac and dc power systems, as well as wave propagation in microwave engineering and photonics. The Chemical Engineering Module provides ready-to-use applications to directly plot reaction rate expressions and fluxes of energy and mass in both the domain and the boundaries.

Cell control solution

Cell Control from Delmia is a 3-D solution used to design, validate, and implement automated production systems. An add-on to Delmia's IGRIP robotic simulation and off-line programming software, Cell Control can be used for any type of automated workcell or production line including robotics, gantries, transfer lines, and other special machines. Multiple PLCs and automated stations can also be simulated within the same project workcell. Engineers can also validate target production rate during design, optimize workcell performance and cost/performance ratio, verify control hardware requirements, simplify the ordering process for suppliers, and simulate and test PLC logic within the IGRIP simulation.
